What should the Obama family look for in a new pet dog? – Part 12

So our future President is looking for a dog for his family. What type of dog should he get to become the next “First Dog?” Does he need a pedigree from the finest breed of dogs? Or how about rescuing a dog from the pound? What should the future first family look for in their pet?

And that, my friend, should be left entirely up to the Obama family. They are the ones who know which dog would be tolerated the best by the allergies in the family. Whether it is a long haired or a short haired dog really should not matter to America. However, like everything else, it does. We all want to champion our favorite breed. We hope the Obamas’ choice is one we would pick. But truthfully, when push comes to shove, the Obamas will pick the dog they want, not the one we want. And that is exactly how it should be. The Obama girls should be the ones to experience the joy and excitement of picking that very first dog.

But we will come to like the dog. After all, he or she will be living in the White House. That’s a pretty big deal, when you think about it. That dog will be living in the number one house in America. That, in itself, will make whatever dog the Obamas choose special.

So good luck to the Obama family in their hunt for their perfect pet. Whether they choose a Scooby type pup or a ritzy poodle, I know it will be loved and cherished. You can tell that by the happy smiles on the faces of the Obama girls.
